Villas for rent on the Dalmatian islands
The wonderful Dalmatian islands are definitely a perfect holiday destination in Croatia.
Like all Croatian islands, they are scenically gorgeous and offer plenty of historic buildings and picturesque villages as far as the eye can see.
The climate is, as in other parts of
Croatia mild and mildly pleasant practically all year round.
Water sports enthusiasts and sun worshipers get their money's worth and you can enjoy both your own villa with swimming pool and beautiful bays.
The Dalmatian cuisine is rich in delicious fish and seafood dishes, as befits a coastal region of the Mediterranean. We recommend small, local and traditional restaurants because here you get really local dishes of the finest.
Korčula
Korčula is the most famous island and the proud inhabitants claim that the discoverer Marco Polo was born here. Accordingly, you will find his name everywhere in the picturesque old town. In the center, next to the church is the birth house, which is now a museum. Although there is not much to see, it is worth a visit, because from the top floor you have a wonderful panoramic view over the old town.
Solta
The island of Solta is probably one of the most overlooked islands among the pearls of the Adriatic. She is often forgotten when talking about the Dalmatian islands, but we think - after visiting more or less all the islands in the region - that Solta, with its beauty and charm, is worth the trip, because you can get one here spend a very relaxing and beautiful holiday.
The island of Solta is only 15 km from the coast and from Split, which makes traveling easy. It has an area of almost 60 km2 and has a coastline of about 80 kilometers. There are about 1,500 people living on the island. The island is connected to the mainland by a ferry from Rogac to Split and a catamaran from
Split to the villages of Rogac and Stomorska
The small town of Grohote is the largest settlement on Solta, which is quite relative, because what you find here are schools, two supermarkets, a post office, a pharmacy as well as the medical center of the island and a helipad.
The village of Stomorska on the northeastern side of Solta is a popular destination for sailboats with its harbor and along the promenade there are numerous restaurants, cafes and a few smaller shops.
The village Necujam is located in the largest bay on the island of Solta, directly opposite Split and is a tourist center with a large holiday village.
The harbor town of Maslinica on the west side offers a very nice beach promenade, the ACI Marina and the marvelous Martinis Marchi Castle, which has recently been completely restored and now houses a luxury hotel.
Pag
The Croatian island of Pag is called the successor of Ibiza - and rightly so. Because here you meet a lively nightlife with numerous opportunities for night owls and party queens.
Zrće hosts many festivals every year, including the famous Spring Break Europe. Accordingly, there are plenty of party-goers from all over the world, to celebrate with a delicious cocktail and booming music and to flirt what it costs.
Pag is the fifth largest island in Croatia. At its narrowest point it is just ten kilometers wide and has a total of 84 kilometers of beach - perfect for sun worshipers.
Getting to the Dalmatian islands
The islands can be easily reached by ferry from port cities such as Split or Dubrovnik. By car you should travel via one of these cities and then look for the right ferry connection.
Those who prefer the plane, book a flight to Split or Dubrovnik and then continue by bus, taxi or a rental car. Without a car, you can use faster catamarans instead of the slower ferries to reach the desired island.
From Germany you can reach the island of Pag with direct flights to
Zadar and then you can reach the island via a bridge.
