If all the roads in Europe lead to Rome, then all the roads in Istria lead to Žminj, the centre of Istria and the old intersection. On the sole cross-roads below the town there is Calvary from 1720. Žminj was the town of Pazin-Pisino County which was taken over by the Venetians only for a year in 1617. A smaller part of citadel, one of the four round towers, one fort wing, the outer part of fortification protecting the houses of commons and one well preserved public tank dating back to 1863 can be seen today from the 15th century city fortifications. The centre of the city is dominated by a great Baroque three-arch parish church of St. Mihovil built in 1625 on the foundations of the previous 12th century parish church.

Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt. Die Lage ist super, in 30 Minuten kann man alle wichtigen Orte erreichen. Es war alles sehr sauber und Ivan hat sich sofort um alles gekümmert. Toll fanden wir die Räder vor Ort, die allerdings mal gewartet werden müssten (Bremsen gehen zum Teil nur schlecht). Sauna, Whirlpool, Billard, alles super toll, unsere Zeit war eigentlich zu kurz, um alles nutzen zu können. Der Außenbereich ist ideal für gesellige Runden oder zum Träumen. Es wurde mehrmals per WhatsApp nachgefragt, ob wir etwas brauchen und ob alles in Ordnung ist. Laut Beschreibung zehn Fahrräder vorhanden, vor Ort waren nur acht. Haben die Räder nicht gebraucht und auch nicht nachgefragt, ob diese irgendwo noch aufzutreiben wären. July 2019
Ja, die Bilder sind schön, aber kurz nachdem wir ankamen standen wir alle mit offenen Mündern da, weil der Eindruck vor Ort nochmal um einiges schöner war. Es fehlt an nichts. Ivan, der Vermieter des Hauses ist sehr bemüht und reagiert sofort, wenn etwas fehlt oder kaputt sein sollte (haben innerhalb von zwei Tagen eine neue Tischtennisplatte bekommen)... Wir waren als Gruppe (4 Paare +1Kind +1Hund) da und es hat an nichts gefehlt. Der Pool ist groß und sauber, für Unterhaltung ist gesorgt (Billard, Tischtennis+Co). Das beste (für Hundebesitzer): Die Villa ist komplett umzäunt! Einzig die Lage erfordert es, unbedingt ein Auto zur Verfügung zu haben (Zentral in Istrien, an fast jeden Strand ca. 30 min Fahrt). Kurzum, sehr empfehlenswert, wir kommen gern wieder! June 2019
